Before you start
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on the scope — the size of the space, what's being installed, how much cabling is involved, and what equipment is needed. No two projects are the same, so there's no flat rate.
Equipment and labor are always quoted together. You'll receive a written, itemized quote before any work begins — no surprises when the invoice arrives.

How does payment work?
Equipment is billed before the install — this covers the cost of hardware ordered specifically for your project. Labor is billed once the installation is complete and you're satisfied with the work.
How far out are you booking?
Typically 1–2 weeks out. Reach out and we'll find a time that works.
Do you serve my area?
We're based in Penn Yan and serve the Finger Lakes region — including Keuka Park, Hammondsport, Watkins Glen, Geneva, Canandaigua, Naples, Victor, and Auburn. If you're a bit outside that range, reach out anyway — travel is possible depending on the project.
Do you work with homes, businesses, or both?
Both. Residential projects are typically Wi-Fi upgrades, camera installs, and home office setups. Business projects tend to involve more cabling, switching, phone systems, and ongoing support. The process is the same either way — free on-site visit, written quote, clean install.
The project
Can you fix an existing setup, or only do new installs?
Both. Many projects are upgrades or fixes — poor Wi-Fi in certain rooms, cameras that aren't recording reliably, a disorganized rack. We'll look at what you have, figure out what's causing the issue, and give you a clear plan to resolve it.
How long does a project take?
Smaller jobs — a Wi-Fi upgrade, a camera add-on — are usually done in a few hours or a single visit. A full install with cabling, cameras, Wi-Fi, and a new rack typically takes 1–2 days. You'll get a realistic timeline in your written quote before any work begins.
Do I need to buy equipment first?
No. Equipment sourcing is handled as part of the project and included in your quote. If you already have gear you'd like to keep, we'll evaluate it and use what makes sense — just mention it when you reach out.
My internet is slow — is that something you can fix?
It depends on where the problem is. Slow speeds inside your home or office — while the connection at the modem is fine — are a network problem we can fix. If your ISP is delivering less than you're paying for, that's on them and outside what we do.

Do you run cable through walls?
Yes. In-wall runs are part of most installs — that's how you get clean results without cables running along baseboards. We plan routes carefully to minimize any drywall work, and where cuts are unavoidable, they're kept small and tidy.
After the install
Do I keep full access to my own system?
Yes. You get admin credentials and a complete walkthrough at handoff. Your system is yours — nothing is locked behind our login.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes. If something isn't right due to the installation itself, it gets fixed at no charge. Hardware is covered by the manufacturer's warranty — typically 1–2 years for UniFi equipment. If a device fails outside of installation error, we can diagnose it remotely and advise on next steps.
Who can access my camera footage?
Only you. Footage is recorded locally to a network video recorder (NVR) on your own premises — it's not stored in the cloud or accessible to anyone without your credentials. Remote access is set up for you and only shared with whoever you choose.
How do I get help after the install?
Email support@sladenetworks.com. If remote access is configured on your system, most issues can be diagnosed and resolved without scheduling a site visit.
